Addition and Subtraction Fluency Set of Tasks K-2

Multiplication and Division Fluency Set of Tasks 3-5

Several bloggers are participating in a Global Math Task Twitter Challenge. Using a hashtag that is grade specific, a differentiated math challenge problem is "tweeted" daily and then solutions are posted. You can sign up to participate by accessing this link and learn more about it by reviewing this slide presentation. If you participate, you'll need a class Twitter account.

Each grade level section of the site includes lesson plans, video vignettes of teaching and learning, interactive lessons for students, and an interactive version of NCTM math standards. The interactive iMath Investigations include ready to use lessons for every grade level. For instance, K-2 students can get the turtle to the pond using geometry and programming, 3-5 students can explore geometrical patterns by spinning the virtual blocks. Teachers will find Interactive Math tools to use in their classrooms to explore math or create interactive lessons. Included are articles, illuminations research and an interactive math dictionary.

NCTM Illuminations

A week of creative math tasks developed by YouCubed (Stanford University) meant for students to learn important growth mindset messages that "will help them feel confident, try harder all year, persist with open and difficult problems and embrace mistakes and challenge. All tasks are low floor and high ceiling - they are accessible to all students and they extend to high levels". Materials are provided.
